PAZO DE ORTIGUEIRA.
A Garden with Five Centuries of History
The unique history of the Pazo de Santa Cruz begins with its very acquisition. At the beginning of the 16th century, Juan Ibáñez de Mondragón, a canon of the Cathedral of Santiago, chose the site of Ortigueira in the parish of Santa Cruz de Rivadulla.
It was in the 17th century that Andrés Ibáñez de Mondragón commissioned the works to the Santiago workshop of Domingo de Andrade, giving the estate its Renaissance structure.
