Winter Way
Camiño de Inverno
Vedra
The Winter Way is the only Camino de Santiago that passes through all four Galician provinces. It was created in the Middle Ages as an alternative to crossing the snow-covered peaks of O Cebreiro. The route traverses landscapes of exceptional beauty: Las Médulas (UNESCO World Heritage Site), the Sil canyons of the Ribeira Sacra, and the vineyards of Valdeorras. In the Terras de Santiago geodestination it enters through the municipality of Vedra across the historic Ponte Ulla bridge to complete the final stage into Compostela.
Highlights
- Ponte Ulla — gateway to the geodestination (Vedra)
- Ulla River Valley (Vedra)
